An early start to crabbing season

Warm spring weather means an early start to the crabbing season.

OCEAN CITY, Md. -- Because of the mild weather this winter, watermen and seafood retailers are seeing blue crabs slightly earlier than normal.

"It's all about the [water] temperature in the bay," said Danny Webster, a Deal Island waterman. "It'll bring the soft crabs a week to 10 days earlier."
