Major advance in study of blue crab disease!
Scientists at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science recently succeeded in growing the blue crab disease Hematodinium through its entire life cycle. The disease is a known cause of crab dieoffs, especially in places along the coast with salty water. This accomplishment will significantly improve scientists' ability to determine how Hematodinium affects blue crab populations. Read the full article here at Science Daily (click here).
